Raa-fa Rafael

Liverpool were beaten 2-1 at Portsmouth in the Premiership on Saturday despite an excellent second half fightback that saw a Sami Hyypia goal reduce Pompey's 2-0 half time lead given to them by Mwaruwari Benjani and Niko Kranjcar.

The Reds produced a fine second half display and deserved at least a point from this game, but they could not repair the damage done in the first half despite Hyypia heading home in the 58th minute. In addition, they make the long journey back home cursing a below par opening that saw Portsmouth race into an unassailable lead.

Benitez made many changes due to the upcoming second leg of the Champions League. As usual Bolo Zenden starts. Ah, so be it. Just hoping he will not be here next year. It is not a pleasure watching Liverpool losing again. As the season coming to the end, I’ve noted that most of Benitez recruitment does not suit the team. There are too many average players. It is getting more disappointing seeing this bunch of players.

If next year Master Benitez keep on buying average player and keep on experimenting the team, then I strongly believe there will be many years to come to the day that we are going to win the league. If we keep on hanging on faith, then this is not football. Quality comes first. Everyone was slating me in the forum for being negative on the team and keep on telling to have faith. Clearly, I do have faith. However, faith alone it is not enough. We want results! I’ve been supporting Liverpool for 20+ years. The last we won was in 85/86, and I was 5 years old that time. It’s hurting to watch years by years Liverpool slip the title. As usual This is Anfield, You’ll Never Walk Alone.

Youth team in the book

Liverpool's class of 2007
have written their names into Anfield history by retaining the FA Youth Cup.The under-18s lifted the trophy after a dramatic penalty shoot-out against Manchester United in their own backyard on Thursday night.

Steve Heighway's youngsters, who lost the Anfield leg 2-1 last week, took the game to spot kicks following a deserved 1-0 victory at Old Trafford. The victory means Liverpool Under-18s have now gone two years without defeat in youth football's premier competition. What a way for the retiring Heighway to bow out. The triumph was witnessed by new Reds co-owner George Gillett, whose presence provided yet another indication of the safe hands in which former chairman David Moores has placed the club. Mr Gillett's smile as the travelling Kop erupted spoke volumes, while the hoards of Reds watching around the country will be hoping this is just the first of many trophies under our new American owners.

You'll Never Walk Alone

It is not a good start for Liverpool. The match annoyed me a lot, bearing in mind that Bolo Zenden started the match and even went on playing full 90 minutes. It is getting worst went I was swearing most of the time calling Benitez to put in Pennant, although obviously he cannot hear. Pennant eventually came in for the last 8 minutes; which what can he do with that eight fucking minutes? It was a poor decision from Benitez to include the Dutch winger from my point of view. He should not start and should not even wear the red shirts! I will say please Mr. Benitez; let the Dutchmen go in the summer. Crouch should start. Statistic shows that Crouch cannot score if he starts in the bench, even though it is not to believe. It does make sense though.

I admitted, Chelsea outplayed Liverpool in most occasions. They cannot create chances. Cech had a little to save, and the defense was all over the place. It is only Riena left to thank. If is not because of his superb saves, we surely have mountain to climb. It was substandard performance from Liverpool. However, hey, let us not get downbeat, There still 2nd leg to play. Bring it on Chelsea! This is Anfield and You will Never Walk Alone!

Road to Athens.....

A very entertaining breath taking match indeed and I might say a well deserve win for Man United. I was hoping that Milan could hang on better in the second half. They control the midfield well but a disappointed defense cost them tonight. One goal cushion will not be enough but instead it will go Milan favor as for the two valuable goals. It will be tough for United in San Siro and the return leg will boost Milan to chase the coming match. Milan will come good, and I am hoping for that to happen.

Nevertheless, it was a good performance from both teams. I will bet it will not be an easy game for United and they are not still one leg ahead to Athens. My best wish to Milan in the second leg.

Pesan saya pada Encik Azyzeer@Jiji, jangan menangis dulu, simpan air mata untuk 'finale', kalau sampailah hendaknya kerana sejarah 2005 akan berulang lagi!!!!
